DeVry operates on a traditional semester calendar with fall, spring, and summer terms. Academic Requirements

What DU Expects

Semester Calendar
DeVry uses a standard 16-week semester format — fall, spring, and summer. Some programs offer shorter 8-week sessions for accelerated completion.
Technical Labs & Reports
Many IT and electronics courses include hands-on lab components with written lab reports. These require precise technical writing, methodology documentation, and results analysis.
Programming Projects
CS and IT programs include coding projects as major assignments. Students may need to submit code files along with written analysis, documentation, and reflection papers.
APA Formatting
Most written assignments at DeVry require APA formatting. Engineering and technical writing courses may use IEEE citation format instead.
Capstone & Senior Projects
Final-year students complete a capstone project that synthesizes skills from across their program. This is a major deliverable requiring proposal, design, implementation, and reflection documents.
GPA Requirements
DeVry requires a 2.0 GPA for undergraduate programs and 3.0 for graduate programs. Students on academic probation must raise their GPA within one semester.
